Over the past weeks, I was involved in installing and
configuring Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.
I was thinking to document the series of post installing of
all major components of AX 2012 – Database, AOS, EP (SharePoint 2010), SSRS Reporting Services, SSAS, and Business Intelligence.
First, I setup several machines that running Window Server 2008 R2 with service pack 1.

Server A
- AOS
- Window Server 2008 R2 SP1
- RAM 8 GB
- Minimum Hard Drive 200 GB
- Installed the Prerequisite
- Microsoft Net Framework 4
- Hotfix for Net Fix 4.0
- Open XML SDK For Microsoft Office
- VC++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable (x64
- VC++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable (x86)
- VSTOR 40
- Window Identify Foundation

Server B - Database
- Window Server 2008 R2 SP1
- Minimum Hard Drive 200 GB
- RAM 8 GB
- Installed Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1
·
Server C – Enterprise Portal
- Window Server 2008 R2 SP1
- RAM 8 GB
- Minimum Hard drive 200 GB
- Installed Microsoft SharePoint 2010
Next, I login into
Server A and started with Dynamics
Installation AOS (Application Object Server) and Database. I had captured the screenshots along the way
as this will help me when I re-setup DEV,
TEST and PRODUCTION Environment
Step 1 – Double click the Setup.exe
Step 2 – Click on Validate System Requirements

Step 3 – Completed the Dynamics AX 2012 Prerequisites
software installation
Step 4 – Reselect Validate System Requirements and select
Database and Application Object Server (AOS).
Then click on Validate
Step 6 – Select Database and Application Object Server (AOS)
Step 7 - Accept the
License terms then click Next

Step 9 - Select Custom Installation then click Next
Step 10 – Click Next
Step 11 – Select Create database
Step 12 – Click Install
Step 11 - I select all the Microsoft Dynamic AX2012 application foundation
model. Then click next
Step 12 - Enter
- Instance Name: INDONESIA_AX2012_DB_Test
- TCP/IP Port: 2712
Step 13 - Provide AOS Service Account:

SQLINDONESIA\AX2012AOSAdmin
and password. Then click Next.
